This guide walks you through installing LTV.ai on your Shopify store and launching your first AI-powered email campaign. No technical setup required.

Prerequisites

  • An active Shopify store (any plan)
  • At least one product in your catalog
  • Some existing customer data (the more, the better — AI works best with 100+ customers)

Step 1: Install the App

Find LTV.ai in the Shopify App Store

Go to the Shopify App Store and search for LTV.ai, or use the direct install link provided by your LTV.ai account manager.

Click Install

Click Add app and review the permissions LTV.ai needs:
  • Read products — to sync your product catalog for email recommendations
  • Read orders — to understand customer purchase behavior
  • Read and write customers — to manage email subscriptions and segmentation
Click Install app to authorize.

Complete onboarding

After installation, you’ll be redirected to the LTV.ai dashboard inside your Shopify admin. The initial setup wizard will guide you through:
  1. Brand setup — Confirm your store name, logo, and brand colors
  2. Data sync — LTV.ai automatically imports your products, customers, and order history (this takes a few minutes depending on store size)
  3. AI training — The AI automatically ingests your previous emails, website, and social media to learn your brand voice
  4. Sender setup — Configure your sending domain
Data sync times: Stores with under 10,000 customers typically sync in under 2 minutes. Larger stores may take up to 10 minutes. You’ll see a progress indicator in the dashboard.

Step 2: Create Your First Campaign

Describe your campaign

Click Create Campaign and tell the AI what you want to promote in plain language. For example:“We just launched a new summer linen collection. 8 pieces, 8080-350. Want to push it to our best customers this week.”

AI builds your audience

The Targeting Agent queries your customer data and suggests audiences most likely to convert for this campaign — with customer counts for each.

AI generates your email

The AI generates the full email:
  1. Email copy tailored to your brand voice
  2. Subject lines personalized per individual customer
  3. Personalized product recommendation grids
  4. Hero images and banners matching your brand
This typically takes 30-60 seconds.

Review and edit

Preview the email. You can:
  • Edit copy — click any text block to modify
  • Swap products — change which products appear in recommendation grids
  • Regenerate — ask AI to try again with different messaging
Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link automatically — this is required for compliance and cannot be removed.

Step 3: Send Your Campaign

Confirm your audience

Review the target audience and estimated send size. The AI recommends the best audience, but you can adjust.

Choose when to send

  • Send now — delivers immediately
  • Schedule — pick a specific date and time

Send

Review the summary and click Send Campaign.
Your first AI-powered campaign is on its way.

Step 4: Track Your Results

Once your campaign sends, head to Analytics to monitor performance:

Allow 24-48 hours for open and click data to fully populate, and several days for conversion data.
