Before every single send, LTV.ai checks each recipient against six conditions. If any one matches, that person does not receive the email. This runs on every campaign and cannot be turned off.

The six checks

Unsubscribes

Every campaign includes a one click unsubscribe link that cannot be removed, and LTV.ai supports one click unsubscribe headers so mail clients can offer their own button. An unsubscribe is permanent. The address is added to your brand exclusion list immediately and will not receive marketing email from that brand again. If Klaviyo or Mailchimp is connected, unsubscribes sync outward to those platforms, and unsubscribes recorded there sync back into LTV.ai. See Klaviyo and Mailchimp.
Unsubscribe status does not sync back to Shopify. If you rely on Shopify’s marketing consent field as your record of truth, reconcile it separately.

Bounces and complaints

Hard bounces are added to a global bounce list and are excluded from every brand, not just the one that sent to them. Spam complaints add the address to your brand exclusion list automatically.

Campaign level exclusions

Any list can be applied as an exclusion on a single campaign. Use this to avoid re-contacting people who bought from a recent send, or to hold out a control group. Select exclusions at the Audience stage. See How audiences work.

Domain exclusions

Entire email domains can be suppressed for a brand, matching the domain and its subdomains. This is useful for competitor domains or internal addresses.
Domain exclusions and bulk manual unsubscribes are managed by the LTV.ai team today. Contact your account manager with the list you need suppressed.
