# Core concepts

> The words LTV.ai uses in the product, and what each one means

These are the terms you will meet throughout the product. They are worth reading once. For what LTV.ai does and what you need to run it, see [What is LTV.ai?](/start/what-is-ltv)

## Campaign

A single email send to a selected audience. LTV.ai has no drip sequences, automated flows, or trigger-based journeys. If you want a follow-up, you create a second campaign, and LTV.ai can suppress people who already engaged with the first.

## Workspace

One brand and everything belonging to it: customer data, lists, designs, modules, product catalog, exclusions, and analytics. Workspaces are fully separate from one another. If you run more than one brand, switch between them using the **Workspace** control in the sidebar. See [Workspaces](/manage/workspaces).

## List

A saved audience. Lists come from four places: a CSV upload, a [Klaviyo](/connect/klaviyo) segment, a [Mailchimp](/connect/mailchimp) audience, or a segment you build inside LTV.ai by describing it in plain language. Lists live under **Manage Modules > Lists**. See [Lists](/audience/lists).

## Segmentation strategy

A rule for splitting one audience into groups. LTV.ai has seven built in: category affinity, discount affinity, purchase frequency, average order value tier, recency, seasonal and weather, and gift versus self purchase. LTV.ai ranks them per campaign and recommends the top three. See [AI segmentation](/audience/ai-segmentation).

## Module

A reusable block of your email: header, footer, [banner](/brand/banners-and-modules), or product grid. Modules are configured once and applied to every campaign, which is how brand consistency and compliance footers stay enforced. Headers and footers are never AI generated. See [Headers and footers](/brand/headers-and-footers).

## Design

A saved email layout. Designs come from LTV.ai generation, a Figma import, or an HTML or image upload. They live in the Design Library and can be reused as brand references for future generation. See [Design Library](/create/design-library).

## Exclusion

An address or domain that will not receive email. Exclusions apply at brand level or campaign level. Anyone who unsubscribes is added automatically and permanently, and hard bounces are excluded across every brand. See [Exclusions and suppression](/audience/exclusions).

## Brand DNA

Your brand voice, logo, colors, fonts, and reference material. LTV.ai builds it by reading your website and public presence during onboarding, and you can edit it afterwards. Every piece of generated copy is written against it. See [Brand DNA](/brand/brand-dna).
