# Warm-up and sending limits

> How much you can send, and how the limit grows

A brand new [sending domain](/connect/sending-domain) has no reputation. Sending a large campaign from it on day one is the fastest way to land in spam permanently. LTV.ai ramps you up instead.

## Your first send

Your first campaign from a new domain is capped and requires an explicit confirmation before it schedules. LTV.ai sends to your most engaged recipients first, because early opens are what build reputation.

## The ramp

Where automated warm-up governance is enabled, daily volume starts at roughly 100 recipients and grows by half again each day.

| Day | Approximate ceiling |
| --- | ------------------- |
| 1   | 100                 |
| 2   | 150                 |
| 3   | 225                 |
| 4   | 340                 |
| 5   | 505                 |
| 6   | 760                 |
| 7   | 1,140               |

After about a week of healthy sending the rate of increase accelerates. The ramp continues until the ceiling exceeds your list size, at which point you are sending full volume.

<Info>
  Automated warm-up governance is enabled per brand. The first send confirmation and cap apply to every brand regardless.
</Info>

## Health checks during warm-up

LTV.ai watches open rate as the ramp progresses.

| Condition                                 | Result                                  |
| ----------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------- |
| First five days | Grace period, ramp continues regardless |
| Open rate below 20%                       | Ramp pauses                             |
| Open rate below half your running average | Warning raised |

A pause is not a failure. It means the list or the content needs attention before volume increases further.

<Warning>
  You cannot schedule a second campaign while a warm-up ramp is running. Wait for it to complete.
</Warning>

## Ongoing volume cap

After warm-up, LTV.ai still limits how fast you can scale. A campaign can be up to **one and a half times** your largest previous send. A jump far beyond your established pattern is exactly what spam filters look for.

<Warning>
  This one **blocks**. If the audience exceeds the cap, the campaign will not schedule. Either reduce the audience, or send a smaller campaign first, which raises your largest-send figure and lifts the ceiling for next time.
</Warning>

Your first send is exempt, because it is what establishes the baseline in the first place.

The cap is measured against your **net** audience, after exclusions are applied, not the raw list size. See [Exclusions and suppression](/audience/exclusions).

## Daily capacity warning

Separately, LTV.ai compares a campaign against your busiest day in the last 30 days. If it exceeds that by more than **70 percent**, you get a warning.

Unlike the volume cap, this one does **not** block. Acknowledge it and proceed if you know the volume is legitimate, for example a Black Friday send.

<Note>
  Warm-up governance currently applies to image based campaigns. Text campaigns are not volume governed in the same way.
