# AI segmentation Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/audience/ai-segmentation The seven strategies, how LTV.ai ranks them, and the prediction models behind them Rather than asking you to design a segmentation scheme, LTV.ai evaluates every strategy it has against your data and this campaign, and recommends the best three. ## The seven strategies | Strategy | Splits your audience by | | ------------------------ | -------------------------------------------------- | | Category affinity | Which product categories a customer buys from | | Discount affinity | How much a customer responds to discounting | | Purchase frequency | How often a customer orders | | Average order value tier | How much a customer typically spends per order | | Recency | How long since the last purchase | | Seasonal and weather | Climate zone and time of year | | Gift versus self | Whether a customer buys for themselves or as gifts | ## How LTV.ai chooses Every strategy is scored on four things, weighted: | Factor | Weight | What it measures | | ----------------- | ------ | ------------------------------------------------------------- | | Effectiveness | 50% | How much usable data you have, and how evenly the split falls | | Campaign context | 35% | How relevant the strategy is to this specific brief | | Prediction signal | 10% | Model scores available for this audience | | Seasonality | 5% | Time of year | LTV.ai presents the **top three**, ranked. You can take the first, take another, or skip segmentation entirely and send one version to everyone. ## Everyone else No strategy classifies every customer. Anyone who does not fall into a named segment is grouped into an **Everyone else** bucket so nobody is silently dropped from the send. Seasonal and weather segmentation uses established climate zones, not a live weather forecast. ## Prediction models Separately from the seven strategies, LTV.ai can score every customer with trained models and expose the results as segments you can target directly: churn risk, purchase probability, lifetime value, discount sensitivity, and more. Model availability is also the **prediction signal** factor in the scoring table above, so a brand with models enabled gets better strategy recommendations as well. See [Prediction models](/audience/prediction-models). # Exclusions and suppression Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/audience/exclusions Who never receives email, and how to add to that list Before every single send, LTV.ai checks each recipient against six conditions. If any one matches, that person does not receive the email. This runs on every campaign and cannot be turned off. ## The six checks | Check | Scope | | ----------------------------------------- | ------------- | | Hard bounced previously | All brands | | On the brand exclusion list | This brand | | Email domain is excluded | This brand | | Opted out of this specific campaign | This campaign | | Already received this exact send | This campaign | | On a list applied as a campaign exclusion | This campaign | ## Unsubscribes Every campaign includes a one click unsubscribe link that cannot be removed, and LTV.ai supports one click unsubscribe headers so mail clients can offer their own button. An unsubscribe is permanent. The address is added to your brand exclusion list immediately and will not receive marketing email from that brand again. If Klaviyo or Mailchimp is connected, unsubscribes sync outward to those platforms, and unsubscribes recorded there sync back into LTV.ai. See [Klaviyo](/connect/klaviyo) and [Mailchimp](/connect/mailchimp). Unsubscribe status does not sync back to Shopify. If you rely on Shopify's marketing consent field as your record of truth, reconcile it separately. ## Bounces and complaints Hard bounces are added to a global bounce list and are excluded from every brand, not just the one that sent to them. Spam complaints add the address to your brand exclusion list automatically. ## Campaign level exclusions Any list can be applied as an exclusion on a single campaign. Use this to avoid re-contacting people who bought from a recent send, or to hold out a control group. Select exclusions at the **Audience** stage. See [How audiences work](/audience/how-audiences-work). ## Domain exclusions Entire email domains can be suppressed for a brand, matching the domain and its subdomains. This is useful for competitor domains or internal addresses. Domain exclusions and bulk manual unsubscribes are managed by the LTV.ai team today. Contact your account manager with the list you need suppressed. # How audiences work Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/audience/how-audiences-work Choosing who receives a campaign Every campaign goes to one audience. You choose it at the **Audience** stage, after the draft is finished. ## Pick one source The audience picker offers four sources. Lists you have built or imported, including [Klaviyo](/connect/klaviyo) segments and [Mailchimp](/connect/mailchimp) audiences. Segments LTV.ai proposes for this campaign, with customer counts. Upload a list for this campaign. LTV.ai detects the columns automatically. Applied on top of whichever source you chose. You select **one** audience per campaign. LTV.ai does not merge several audiences into a single send, and it does not build per segment variants of one campaign. To reach two different groups with different messages, create two campaigns. ## Empty and holdout lists Lists with no members, and lists marked as holdout or exclusion lists, are hidden from the picker so they cannot be selected as a send target by mistake. ## Counts Every option shows a customer count before you commit. Counts reflect your synced data at that moment, so they move as Shopify and Klaviyo sync. The count shown is before exclusions. Your actual delivered volume will be lower once unsubscribes, bounces, and exclusions are applied. See [Exclusions and suppression](/audience/exclusions). ## Sending limits On a new domain, or when a campaign is much larger than your recent sends, LTV.ai caps or warns on volume before scheduling. See [Warm-up and sending limits](/send/warmup-and-limits). # Lists Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/audience/lists Build, import, and manage saved audiences A list is a saved audience you can reuse across campaigns. Find them under **Manage Modules > Lists**. ## Where lists come from | Source | Notes | | ------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | CSV upload | Columns are detected automatically. Uploads up to 150 MB. | | Klaviyo segments | Synced live with contact counts. See [Klaviyo](/connect/klaviyo). | | Mailchimp audiences | Synced from your connected account. See [Mailchimp](/connect/mailchimp). | | Built in LTV.ai | Describe the audience you want in plain language. | ## Build a segment with AI Choose **Build Segment with AI** and describe the audience you want. LTV.ai turns the description into a query against your customer data, shows you the count, and saves it as a list. Things you can ask for: * Customers who bought twice or more but not in the last 90 days * Everyone in California who has spent over 200 dollars * People who opened the last three campaigns but never clicked You can segment on purchase behavior, engagement history, location, sign up date, and customer tags synced from Shopify. A saved list is a snapshot of the query result at the time you saved it, not a live rule. Rebuild it before a campaign if the underlying data has moved. ## Using a list Lists can be used as a campaign audience or as an exclusion list. Any list can be either. See [Exclusions and suppression](/audience/exclusions). ## Uploading a CSV Upload from the Lists page. LTV.ai reads the header row and maps the columns. Every upload is checked against your unsubscribe and bounce records before sending. An imported CSV cannot reintroduce someone who has already opted out. # Prediction models Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/audience/prediction-models Model scores you can target, from churn risk to discount sensitivity Prediction models are enabled per brand. Contact your account manager if you do not see them. Where enabled, LTV.ai scores every customer with a set of trained models and exposes the results as segments you can target directly. Find them under **Manage Modules > Prediction Models**. ## The models | Model | What it predicts | Segments | | ----------------------- | ---------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------- | | Email click probability | Likelihood of clicking a campaign | High, medium, low | | Purchase probability | Likelihood of buying in the next 30 days | High, medium, low intent | | Churn risk | Likelihood of lapsing | Critical, at risk, safe | | Customer lifetime value | Expected value over 30 days | VIP, high, mid, low | | Optimal send time | When a customer is most likely to open | Eight three hour slots | | Next purchase date | When the next order is likely | Imminent, soon, upcoming, distant | | Engagement score | Overall engagement, 0 to 100 | Champion, highly engaged, active, passive, dormant | | Discount sensitivity | How much discounting a customer needs | Full price buyer, occasional deal seeker, discount driven | ## Using them Model segments appear alongside your other options at the **Audience** stage. See [How audiences work](/audience/how-audiences-work). Two are worth calling out. **Discount sensitivity** is the margin protection lever. Target full price buyers without a code and reserve discounting for customers who actually need one, rather than discounting everybody to reach the few who required it. **Optimal send time** powers the scheduling option of the same name. Instead of one send time for everyone, each recipient lands in whichever of eight slots they are most likely to open in. See [Scheduling and sending](/send/scheduling). ## How scores are produced Models are trained outside the dashboard and the scores are loaded in on a schedule, so a newly synced customer will not have scores immediately. Stale scores are pruned automatically. Scores also feed [AI segmentation](/audience/ai-segmentation), where model availability is one of the factors weighing which segmentation strategy LTV.ai recommends for a campaign. Prediction quality depends on history. A brand with little purchase or engagement data will get thinner segments, and some models may not produce useful splits at all. # Banners and modules Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/brand/banners-and-modules Reusable blocks that appear inside generated campaigns Modules are the reusable pieces LTV.ai assembles a campaign from. [Headers and footers](/brand/headers-and-footers) are covered separately. This page covers the rest. ## Banners Banners are promotional strips that sit inside the body of an email, typically announcing a sale, a shipping threshold, or a seasonal message. Find them under **Manage Modules > Banners**. Upload your own banner image to add one. LTV.ai selects a banner when the campaign brief calls for one. You can add, remove, or swap it while editing the draft. ## Product grids A product grid is a block of recommended products pulled from your catalog. LTV.ai populates it per campaign using purchase history, product affinity, and the campaign context. You do not configure product grids in advance. They are generated as part of the campaign and edited in the draft editor, where you can swap individual products or change how many appear. See [Editing a draft](/create/editing-drafts). Product grids require a synced catalog. Without Shopify, LTV.ai has no products to recommend. ## Prediction models If enabled for your brand, **Manage Modules > Prediction Models** exposes model driven scores you can segment on, such as churn risk, purchase probability, and lifetime value tier. See [Prediction models](/audience/prediction-models). # Brand DNA Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/brand/brand-dna The voice, look, and reference material every generated campaign is written against Brand DNA is what makes generated copy sound like your brand rather than generic ecommerce email. LTV.ai builds a first version during onboarding and you refine it from there. Find it under **Settings > Brand DNA**. ## How it is built When you enter your website address during onboarding, LTV.ai reads your site and public presence and extracts: * Logo, color palette, and fonts * Tone of voice and recurring phrasing * Product positioning and category language * What your brand talks about and what it avoids There are no uploads or brand guideline documents to prepare. If your site is thin, LTV.ai supplements it with grounded web research about your brand. ## Editing it You can edit any field directly. You can also use the chat on the Brand DNA page to change it conversationally, for example asking it to be less formal or to stop using a particular phrase. ## Reference libraries Two libraries on this page do more for output quality than any other setting. Both start populated from what LTV.ai detected, and both are worth curating by hand. ### Email references Past emails that show LTV.ai how your brand writes and lays out a campaign. Add them by browsing your brand's own sending history, or by uploading emails directly. Aim for **five to ten**, chosen to cover the range of campaigns you actually send rather than ten variations of the same promotional blast. A useful spread: * Two or three straight promotions or sales * One or two product launches * One editorial or storytelling send * One transactional-feeling send, if you use that tone Curation beats volume. An off-brand email in the library pulls generation toward it, so remove anything you would not send today. ### Hero references Images LTV.ai draws from when building new hero visuals. The card describes them as "the hero images we draw from when building new heroes." **LTV.ai uses up to three per generation.** So three is the working minimum, and a library of **ten or more** gives it enough range to pick something that fits the brief rather than reusing the same shot. Worth including: * Your strongest product photography, across different products * Lifestyle and in-context shots, not only packshots * Seasonal imagery if your calendar is seasonal * Anything with the lighting or styling you want repeated The setup checklist marks these complete as soon as one reference exists. That is a completion check, not a recommendation. One reference will produce noticeably narrower output than ten. ### Competitors The brands you compete with in the inbox. These feed competitor research rather than generation directly. See [Ideation Agent](/proactive/ideation-agent). ## Visual identity | Setting | Notes | | ------- | ------------------------------------------------------- | | Logo | Uploaded or detected. Used in your header module. | | Colors | Detected from your site. Used across generated designs. | | Fonts | Browse Google Fonts or upload font files. | ## Performance insights The **Performance Insights** tab on this page shows what has actually worked for your brand across past campaigns, and feeds that back into generation. ## Shopify custom attributes If enabled for your brand, **Settings > Shopify Custom Attributes** lets you pull Shopify metafields and metaobjects into LTV.ai for use in personalization and segmentation. Custom attributes are available per brand. Contact your account manager if you do not see the option. # Headers and footers Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/brand/headers-and-footers The blocks applied to every campaign, and why they are never AI generated Your header and footer are applied to every campaign automatically. They are the parts of your email that should never vary, which is why LTV.ai never generates them. Find them under **Manage Modules > Headers** and **Manage Modules > Footers**. ## Defaults LTV.ai creates a default header and footer when you finish onboarding, using your logo and colors. They work immediately. Most brands replace them with something closer to their existing email. ## Getting your real header and footer in Pull the header and footer out of a past Klaviyo campaign. The closest match to what your customers already receive. Paste or upload the HTML directly if you have it. Use the built in editor to change text, links, images, and spacing without touching code. Open a header or footer and choose edit to open the visual editor. ## Link confirmation When you import a header or footer, LTV.ai detects the links inside it and asks you to confirm where each one should point. This runs once per module, not per campaign. ## Compliance Your footer is where the legally required parts of a marketing email live. Every campaign includes a one click unsubscribe link that cannot be removed. Your physical mailing address is required by CAN-SPAM and must be present in your footer. Check it is there before your first send. See [Data and compliance](/trust/data-and-compliance). ## Why they are never generated Generated headers and footers would drift between campaigns, break brand consistency, and risk dropping compliance content. LTV.ai preserves yours exactly as written on every send, including on campaigns built from an uploaded design. # Image Library Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/brand/image-library The imagery LTV.ai builds heroes from, and why lifestyle photography matters most The Image Library is the pool of imagery LTV.ai can build emails from. It is on for every brand, and it feeds generation directly, which makes it one of the highest leverage things you can invest in. Find it in the sidebar under **Image Library**. ## Two sources Pulled automatically from your synced product catalog. No work needed. Photography of your brand in context: models, settings, styling, seasonal shoots. Added by you. ## How images get chosen Every image is analysed and tagged automatically. LTV.ai records the visible objects, dominant colours, **setting and scene**, product category, **mood**, and **season**. Those tags are the selection mechanism. When LTV.ai builds a hero for a campaign, it searches the library for imagery whose scene and mood match the brief, then works from what it finds. ## Why lifestyle images matter most Product shots tell LTV.ai *what you sell*. Lifestyle images tell it *how your brand looks*: how you light a scene, how you style a set, what a winter campaign should feel like next to a summer one. A library of packshots on white produces heroes that look like packshots on white. This is the single biggest lever on how generated campaigns look. ### What to add * Campaign and editorial photography from past shoots * Seasonal imagery, so autumn briefs get autumn scenes * Products in real settings rather than isolated on a background * A spread of moods, if your brand shifts tone across the year [Proactive campaigns](/proactive/proactive-ideas) lean on this hardest. When a [daily briefing](/proactive/daily-briefing) builds an email without you asking, the library is what keeps it looking like your brand. A thin library is the most common reason unprompted campaigns come back looking generic. ## Image Library or hero references? Both feed hero imagery, and they do different jobs. | | Image Library | Hero references | | ---------------- | --------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------ | | What it is | The broad pool LTV.ai searches | A pinned shortlist | | Where it lives | Its own sidebar page | A card on [Brand DNA](/brand/brand-dna) | | How it is filled | Catalog sync, plus lifestyle images you add | You pin specific images | | When it is used | Any generation, including proactive campaigns | Up to three per hero you generate yourself | In practice: keep the library broad so LTV.ai has range, and pin hero references when you want a particular look repeated. # Marketing calendar Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/brand/marketing-calendar Give LTV.ai your promotional plan so it can suggest campaigns around it The marketing calendar tells LTV.ai what you already have planned: sales, launches, seasonal moments, and quiet periods. It uses that to time suggestions and to avoid proposing something that clashes with a promotion you are already running. Find it under **Settings > Marketing Calendar**. ## Adding your plan Upload your calendar and LTV.ai reads it, extracts the individual events, and lays them out in a grid view. You can review and correct what it extracted. ## What it affects Suggestions are timed around your planned events and gaps in your send schedule. The briefing references upcoming calendar events when proposing campaigns. The Ideation Agent can also read your calendar when you ask it what to send next. See [Ideation Agent](/proactive/ideation-agent). The calendar is advisory. It never schedules or sends anything on its own. # Product catalog Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/brand/product-catalog Where product data comes from and how to fix it when it looks wrong Your product catalog powers product grids, recommendations, and any campaign that references specific items. Find it under **Manage Modules > Product Catalog**. ## Where it comes from If Shopify is connected, your catalog syncs automatically: titles, descriptions, images, pricing, inventory, and collections. It refreshes every 30 minutes. If you are not on Shopify, upload a CSV instead. Uploads are accepted up to 150 MB. ## Keeping it accurate LTV.ai checks catalog health and flags problems such as missing images, absent descriptions, or products that failed to import. If products look wrong or stale, open **Settings > Connections > Shopify** and trigger a re-sync from the catalog health card. A large catalog change can take up to 30 minutes to appear on its own. ## How products get chosen When LTV.ai builds a product grid it weighs the recipient's purchase history, affinity between products, and the campaign brief. You can override any of it in the draft editor by swapping individual products. See [Editing a draft](/create/editing-drafts). # Klaviyo Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/connect/klaviyo Sync segments and engagement data, import your existing design, and push campaigns back to Klaviyo Klaviyo is LTV.ai's deepest integration. Connecting it gives LTV.ai your existing segments, engagement history, and email design, and lets you send campaigns through Klaviyo instead of through LTV.ai. ## Connect In Klaviyo, go to **Settings > API keys** and create a private key with read access to profiles, segments, lists, metrics, campaigns, and templates. The key starts with `pk_`. Go to **Settings > Connections** and open **Klaviyo**. Paste the key. LTV.ai validates it and shows the Klaviyo account name so you can confirm you connected the right one. ## What LTV.ai pulls in Your Klaviyo segments become selectable campaign audiences, with live contact counts. Contact records are backfilled on connect, paced to respect Klaviyo's rate limits. Five engagement metrics including opens and clicks, with event properties retained for segmentation. Unsubscribes sync in both directions, continuously. The initial profile and engagement backfill can take a while on large accounts. Segment counts populate first, engagement history fills in behind it. ## Import your existing design LTV.ai can read your existing Klaviyo campaigns and pull out the pieces worth keeping. * **Headers and footers.** Import them directly as LTV.ai modules so generated campaigns match what your customers already receive. Open **Settings > Connections > Klaviyo** and choose the header and footer view. * **Full campaign HTML.** Import a past campaign as a saved design and reuse it as a brand reference. See [Headers and footers](/brand/headers-and-footers) and [Design Library](/create/design-library). ## Push a campaign to Klaviyo Once a draft is finished, use **Push to Klaviyo** to create it as a campaign in your Klaviyo account. See [Send with LTV.ai or Klaviyo](/send/sending-routes) for how the two routes compare. The button appears in the draft editor and on proactive idea detail pages. This is the right choice if your sending reputation, compliance review, or reporting already lives in Klaviyo. The alternative is sending through LTV.ai's own infrastructure, which requires setting up a sending domain. See [Set up your sending domain](/connect/sending-domain) and [Scheduling and sending](/send/scheduling). Campaigns pushed to Klaviyo are reported on in Klaviyo. LTV.ai attribution covers sends that go through LTV.ai. See [Attribution](/measure/attribution). # Mailchimp Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/connect/mailchimp Use Mailchimp audiences as campaign targets and keep unsubscribes in sync Mailchimp is a narrower integration than Klaviyo. It gives LTV.ai your audiences and keeps unsubscribes aligned between the two systems. ## Connect Go to **Settings > Connections** and open **Mailchimp**. Authorize the connection with your Mailchimp account. ## What it does Your Mailchimp audiences and segments appear as selectable lists when you pick a campaign audience. Someone who unsubscribes in Mailchimp stops receiving LTV.ai email, and someone who unsubscribes from an LTV.ai send is pushed back to Mailchimp. Unsubscribe sync also runs every time you upload a list, so an imported CSV cannot reintroduce someone who has already opted out. ## What it does not do LTV.ai cannot send through Mailchimp. Campaigns are sent through LTV.ai's own infrastructure. If Mailchimp is your sending platform, use it as an audience and suppression source, and set up an LTV.ai sending domain for the sends themselves. See [Set up your sending domain](/connect/sending-domain). Mailchimp is not offered during onboarding. Connect it afterwards under **Settings > Connections**. ## Mailchimp or Klaviyo? They are not equivalent integrations, so it is worth knowing which you have. | | Mailchimp | [Klaviyo](/connect/klaviyo) | | ---------------------------------- | --------- | --------------------------- | | Audiences as campaign targets | Yes | Yes | | Unsubscribe sync both ways | Yes | Yes | | Engagement history imported | No | Yes, five metrics | | Import your header, footer, design | No | Yes | | Send campaigns through it | No | Yes, via Push to Klaviyo | If you use both, Klaviyo is the richer connection and the one worth setting up first. ## Troubleshooting If a Mailchimp audience is missing from the picker, it is usually because the audience is empty, or because the sync has not completed since you created it. Empty lists are hidden from the audience picker by design. See [How audiences work](/audience/how-audiences-work). # Slack, Figma, and tracking Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/connect/other-connections Notifications, design import, and conversion tracking for non-Shopify stores All of these are optional. Connect them under **Settings > Connections**. ## Slack Connect Slack to receive finished campaigns, proactive ideas, and daily briefings in a channel your team already watches. Open the **Slack** connector and authorize LTV.ai for your workspace. Search for and select the channel that should receive notifications. If another workspace member already connected that channel, LTV.ai tells you rather than silently taking it over. **Use a public channel.** LTV.ai adds itself to public channels automatically. Private channels do appear in the picker, but Slack does not let an app join one on its own, so nothing will be delivered until someone invites LTV.ai to that channel manually. To use a private channel anyway, open it in Slack and invite the LTV.ai app before selecting it here. Once connected you can also refine a campaign directly from Slack by replying to the message, without opening the dashboard. ## Figma Import a design from Figma and turn it into a sendable email. There are three ways to authenticate, in order of preference: 1. **OAuth.** Click connect and authorize. Works for most accounts. 2. **Personal access token.** Generate one in Figma under **Settings > Security**. 3. **Organization token.** For Figma Organization and Enterprise plans, generate a token starting with `fig_p_`. See [Campaign Creator](/create/campaign-creator). ## Manual tracking script If your store is not on Shopify, install the tracking script so LTV.ai can attribute revenue to campaigns. Copy the snippet from the **Manual tracking script** connector and paste it into your site's ``, or add it as a custom HTML tag in Google Tag Manager. The tracking script connector always shows as disconnected. It has no way to detect installation. Verify by checking that conversions appear on a campaign report after a send. Without Shopify, LTV.ai has no product catalog or order history. You will need to upload customer lists manually and product recommendations will be unavailable. See [Lists](/audience/lists). ## Air The Air asset library integration pulls creative from your Air workspace. It is available on request. Contact your account manager to have it enabled. # Set up your sending domain Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/connect/sending-domain Authenticate a domain so campaigns send from your brand LTV.ai sends from a subdomain of your own domain, not from a generic address. Setting it up means adding DNS records that prove you authorized the sending. This is not part of onboarding. Do it before your first send. ## Run the wizard Go to **Settings > Connections** and open **Sending email**. The name recipients see in their inbox. Usually your brand name. The subdomain campaigns will send from, for example `mail.yourbrand.com`. Using a subdomain keeps campaign sending reputation separate from your transactional and personal email. LTV.ai generates the records you need. If your DNS provider is supported, you can authorize LTV.ai to add them for you and skip the manual step. Otherwise, copy each record into your DNS provider. LTV.ai checks that the records have propagated. This is usually minutes, but DNS can take up to 48 hours depending on your provider. ## What the records do | Record | Purpose | | --------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------- | | SPF | Authorizes LTV.ai to send on behalf of your domain | | DKIM | Cryptographically signs each message so receivers can verify it | | DMARC | Tells receivers what to do with mail that fails the checks above | | MAIL FROM | Sets the return path used for bounce handling | ## Track progress Go to **Settings > Email Infrastructure** to see where setup has reached. The stages are: 1. Not started 2. Getting started 3. Domain configured 4. Verifying DNS records 5. DNS verified 6. Email authentication ready 7. Secure links configured 8. SSL activated 9. Inbox created 10. Setup complete If a stage fails, the page tells you which record is wrong. The most common cause is a conflicting existing SPF record on the same domain. This page is reachable from the Sending email connector. It is not in the sidebar navigation. ## After verification Your first campaign is your warm-up send and is volume capped while LTV.ai establishes your domain's reputation. See [Warm-up and sending limits](/send/warmup-and-limits). # Shopify Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/connect/shopify Install the app, what syncs, and how often Shopify is the only ecommerce platform LTV.ai syncs with. It supplies your customers, orders, and [product catalog](/brand/product-catalog). ## Install Install LTV.ai from the Shopify App Store, or use the direct install link from your account manager. After install you land in the LTV.ai dashboard. If your store was connected before and needs reconnecting, go to **Settings > Connections**, open **Shopify**, and choose **Reconnect my store**. Enter your `yourstore.myshopify.com` address and complete the OAuth prompt. ## Permissions These are the scopes LTV.ai's email features rely on. | Scope | Why | | ------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | `read_customers`, `write_customers` | Customer profiles, tags, and opt-in status. Write access keeps unsubscribe status in sync with your store. | | `read_orders`, `read_all_orders` | Purchase history for segmentation and [attribution](/measure/attribution) | | `write_products` | Product details for grids and recommendations | | `read_inventory` | Stock levels on your product catalog | | `read_content` | Collections and storefront content | | `read_metaobjects`, `read_metaobject_definitions` | Shopify custom attributes, where enabled | | `write_discounts` | Creates discount codes for campaigns that use them | The install screen also lists `read_checkouts`, `write_orders`, `read_returns`, `read_fulfillments`, `read_customer_payment_methods`, `read_shopify_payments_disputes`, and `write_own_subscription_contracts`. These belong to the shared ShopToken platform app rather than to LTV.ai's email features. ## What syncs Profiles, location, email subscription status, and customer tags. New orders, full purchase history, status changes, cancellations, and refunds. Details, images, descriptions, pricing, inventory, and collections. LTV.ai also reads Shopify metafields and metaobjects if you enable custom attributes. See [Brand DNA](/brand/brand-dna). ## How often it syncs LTV.ai combines webhooks for live events with scheduled jobs for bulk data. | Data | How it updates | | -------------------------------- | ------------------------ | | Initial sync after install | Starts within 15 minutes | | Orders, refunds, and fulfilments | Webhook, near real time | | Product deletions | Webhook, near real time | | Product catalog | Every 30 minutes | | Customers | Every 12 hours | | Collections | Once a day | | Bulk sync processing | Every 5 minutes | Customer records are not updated in real time. A new subscriber in Shopify can take up to 12 hours to become targetable in LTV.ai. If you need someone included in a campaign sooner, upload them as a list. See [Lists](/audience/lists). A large catalog change can take up to 30 minutes to appear. If products look wrong or missing, open **Settings > Connections > Shopify** and use the catalog health card to trigger a re-sync. ## Signing in The LTV.ai dashboard is a separate login. Sign in with a magic link or a password at the dashboard URL. Shopify is not a sign-in provider for LTV.ai, and there is no Shopify single sign-on into the dashboard. ## Disconnecting Go to **Settings > Connections**, open **Shopify**, and disconnect. Go to **Settings > Apps and sales channels** and remove LTV.ai. Disconnecting stops all syncing. Customer data already imported stays in LTV.ai, and your [exclusion lists](/audience/exclusions) are preserved. # Campaign Creator Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/create/campaign-creator Describe a campaign and get a finished email back Campaign Creator is where most campaigns start. You describe what you want, LTV.ai asks anything it needs, and it produces a complete email. Find it in the sidebar under **Campaign Creator**. ## The three tabs | Tab | Use it for | | -------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | **New Request** | An image based campaign. This is the default and what most brands use. | | **Text Campaign** | A plain text style email, closer to a personal note than a designed campaign. | | **Campaign History** | Every campaign you have started, finished or not. Resume from here. | ## Writing a brief A brief is one or two sentences. Be specific about the goal and the offer, and leave the rest to LTV.ai. Good briefs look like: * Promote the new winter outerwear collection to people who bought outerwear last year * Win back customers who have not ordered in six months, with a 15 percent code * Announce free shipping over 50 dollars for the rest of the month LTV.ai will ask follow up questions where the brief is ambiguous, then generate. ## What it builds Subject line, preheader, body copy, and calls to action, written against your [Brand DNA](/brand/brand-dna). Generated for the campaign. You can supply product images to work from, or regenerate it. Pulled from your catalog based on purchase history and campaign context. Applied exactly as configured. Never generated. See [Headers and footers](/brand/headers-and-footers). ## Two ways to start a design When LTV.ai reaches the design stage it asks whether to generate one or use your own. * **Design with AI.** LTV.ai composes the layout. This is the default. * **Import your own design.** Upload an image or HTML, or pull a design from Figma. ## From draft to send Once the email is assembled you move through three stages, shown as a step indicator at the top of the page. Review and edit the email. See [Editing a draft](/create/editing-drafts). Choose who receives it and apply exclusions. See [How audiences work](/audience/how-audiences-work). Send now or pick a date and time. See [Scheduling and sending](/send/scheduling). ## One prompt generation **Beta.** Available per brand. Contact your account manager if you do not see it. If enabled, the composer on your Home page generates a complete campaign from a single prompt with no back and forth. The result lands in your Design Library as a saved design, ready to edit and send. Use it when you know exactly what you want. Use Campaign Creator when you want LTV.ai to ask questions first. # Design Library Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/create/design-library Saved designs, reusable as campaigns and as brand references The Design Library holds every design you have saved: generated campaigns, imported HTML, and Figma pulls. Find it in the sidebar under **Design Library**. ## What it is for Open any saved design and send it again with new copy, new products, and a new audience. Saved designs act as brand references. Generation gets closer to your house style as the library grows. ## Adding designs * **Import.** Bring in HTML, an image, or a Figma frame. * **Save from a campaign.** Any campaign you build can be kept as a design. * **From Klaviyo.** Import past campaign HTML from your connected [Klaviyo](/connect/klaviyo) account. ## Sending from a saved design Open a design and it moves through the same three stages as any campaign: **Draft**, **Audience**, **Schedule**. Editing a design for a campaign does not overwrite the saved original. ## Designs or images? Two libraries, two jobs. The Design Library stores whole email layouts. The [Image Library](/brand/image-library) stores the individual visuals those layouts are built from, and is what LTV.ai draws on when generating a hero. If generated campaigns are laid out well but look visually generic, the Image Library is where to fix it. # Editing a draft Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/create/editing-drafts Change copy, swap products, regenerate images, and refine sections Once an email is assembled you land in the draft editor. Everything in the email is editable, either directly or by asking. ## Direct editing | What | How | | -------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------- | | Text | Click any text block and type. | | Products | Click a product in a grid and swap it for another from your catalog. | | Images | Replace with your own upload, crop in place, or regenerate. | | Sections | Reorder, remove, or add a new section. | ## Refining by asking The chat panel in the editor edits the email for you. It is useful for changes that would be tedious by hand. Things it handles well: * Make the subject line shorter and less pushy * Swap the hero for something with more contrast * Add a section below the products about our returns policy * Remove the second call to action If a request is ambiguous, it asks rather than guessing. ## Regenerating Regenerate produces a fresh version of a single element rather than the whole email. You can regenerate the hero image, an individual section, or the copy in a block, without losing the rest of your edits. ## Refining from Slack If Slack is connected, campaigns delivered to your channel can be refined by replying to the message. The changes apply to the draft in LTV.ai. See [Slack, Figma, and tracking](/connect/other-connections). ## What you cannot edit Your header and footer are fixed for the campaign. Change them under **Manage Modules**, and the change applies to every future campaign. See [Headers and footers](/brand/headers-and-footers). A plain text version of every email is generated automatically after assembly. You do not need to write or maintain it. It improves deliverability for recipients whose clients block HTML. # Billing Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/manage/billing Where billing lives and when it blocks a send Find billing under **Settings > Billing**. ## Payment Payments are processed by Stripe. LTV.ai does not store your card details. ## Billing and sending Billing must be set up before a campaign can be scheduled. If it is not, LTV.ai stops you at the **Schedule** stage and points you here rather than letting the campaign fail later. This check runs per workspace. If you run several brands, each needs billing configured. ## Shopify charges Installing the LTV.ai Shopify app does not put a charge through Shopify. Billing is handled directly in LTV.ai. ## Billing is per workspace If you run several brands, each [workspace](/manage/workspaces) is billed separately and needs its own billing setup. Configuring one does not unblock the others. ## What counts Billing tracks sending through LTV.ai's own infrastructure. Campaigns you [push to Klaviyo](/send/sending-routes) are sent by Klaviyo and billed by Klaviyo, not here. Generating campaigns, running proactive ideas, and building drafts you never send do not put mail on the wire. ## Questions For plan changes, invoices, pricing, or a purchase order, contact your account manager. There is no self-serve plan change in the dashboard. # Workspaces Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/manage/workspaces Running more than one brand from one account If you run several brands, each one gets its own workspace. Workspaces are fully independent. ## What is separate per workspace Customers, [lists](/audience/lists), and segments belong to one brand only. [Brand DNA](/brand/brand-dna), [headers and footers](/brand/headers-and-footers), banners, and designs. Products, campaigns, and reporting. Unsubscribe and [exclusion lists](/audience/exclusions). An unsubscribe from one brand does not affect another. Hard bounces are the one exception. An address that hard bounces is suppressed across every workspace, because the mailbox itself does not exist. ## Switching Use the **Workspace** control in the sidebar. Every page updates to the selected brand. ## Working in two brands at once Each browser tab remembers its own workspace, so you can have two brands open side by side without one switching the other. Changing workspace in one tab does not move the others. Check which workspace a tab is in before scheduling. The sidebar always shows the current one. ## If your access changes If your access to a workspace is removed while you are working in it, LTV.ai moves you to a workspace you can still reach and tells you why, rather than leaving you on an error page. ## Adding a brand New workspaces are set up by the LTV.ai team, including the Shopify connection and initial brand build. Contact your account manager. ## Signing in The LTV.ai dashboard uses its own login, separate from Shopify. Enter your email and follow the link sent to you. This is the default. Available if you prefer it. Shopify is not a sign-in provider for LTV.ai. Installing the Shopify app does not create dashboard access, and there is no Shopify single sign-on. ## Who can access what Access is granted per workspace. Someone who can reach one brand cannot see another brand's customers, campaigns, or reporting. User access is managed by the LTV.ai team. Contact your account manager to add a colleague, remove someone who has left, or change which workspaces a user can reach. Removing access for someone who has left the company is worth doing promptly, since dashboard access includes customer data. # Attribution Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/measure/attribution How LTV.ai decides a purchase came from a campaign, and how to change it Attribution is the rule that decides whether a purchase counts as driven by one of your campaigns. It affects every revenue and conversion number in the product, so it is worth knowing what yours is set to. ## The default Out of the box, LTV.ai uses a **10 day view through** window. That means a purchase is attributed to a campaign if the customer **opened** it within the previous 10 days. The customer does not need to have clicked. View through is more generous than the click based attribution many platforms default to. If you are comparing LTV.ai revenue against another tool, check both windows and both models before concluding the numbers disagree. ## Changing it Go to **Settings > General** and adjust: | Setting | Options | | ---------------- | ------------------------------------------ | | Attribution type | View through (open based) or click through | | Window length | Any value | | Window unit | Hours or days | Changes apply to reporting going forward and to how existing data is presented. ## Which model to use * **View through** credits the campaign for influencing a purchase even without a click. It reflects how email actually works for most ecommerce brands, where people see an email and come back later. It will report higher revenue. * **Click through** only credits purchases after a click. It is stricter and easier to defend to a finance team. It will report lower revenue. Neither is wrong. Pick one, and keep it consistent so your campaign to campaign comparisons stay meaningful. ## Last touch When more than one campaign is in the window, the most recent qualifying one gets the credit. Revenue is not split between campaigns. ## Campaigns pushed to Klaviyo Campaigns sent through Klaviyo are attributed by Klaviyo, not by LTV.ai. Those numbers will not reconcile with LTV.ai reporting because the two systems use different models and windows. See [Klaviyo](/connect/klaviyo). ## Non Shopify stores Attribution needs purchase data. On Shopify this is automatic. Otherwise you need the tracking script installed. See [Slack, Figma, and tracking](/connect/other-connections). # Campaign reports Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/measure/campaign-reports What every metric means, what it is compared against, and the written analysis About 36 hours after a campaign sends, LTV.ai generates a report for it. Open one from the [Dashboard](/measure/dashboard) campaign table. ## Metrics Denominators matter. These are the exact definitions LTV.ai uses. | Metric | Definition | | ------------------ | ------------------------------------ | | Sends | Emails delivered after suppression | | Opens | Recipients who opened at least once | | Open rate | Opens divided by sends | | Clicks | Recipients who clicked at least once | | Click through rate | Clicks divided by **sends** | | Click to open rate | Clicks divided by **opens** | | Conversions | Attributed purchases | | Conversion rate | Conversions divided by sends | | Revenue | Attributed revenue | | Revenue per send | Revenue divided by sends | | Unsubscribe rate | Unsubscribes divided by sends | | Bounce rate | Bounces divided by attempted sends | Click through rate and click to open rate are different numbers. Click through rate is against everyone who received the email. Click to open rate is against everyone who opened it, so it is always the higher figure. Check which one you are reading before comparing against an external benchmark. ## What it compares against Every report is measured against two baselines from your own account: * **Your brand average**, taken from campaigns before this one * **Your previous campaign** LTV.ai does not provide industry or category benchmarks. Comparisons are always against your own history. ## The written analysis Each report includes a plain language explanation, not just numbers. | Section | Covers | | ------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | Performance summary | What happened, in a paragraph | | Why it performed this way | Audience, subject lines, product recommendations, segmentation, creative, timing, and outside factors | | Baseline comparison | How it sits against your average and your last campaign | | Recommended actions | Concrete next steps | Recommended actions are things you can act on directly, such as sending a follow up, retargeting people who did not engage, or building a new campaign for a segment that responded well. ## Subject line breakdown If the campaign used more than one subject line, the report breaks performance out by line. ## Timing | Data | Available | | ----------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | Sends and bounces | Immediately | | Opens and clicks | 24 to 48 hours | | Conversions and revenue | Several days, depending on your [attribution window](/measure/attribution) | | Written report | About 36 hours after send | # Dashboard Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/measure/dashboard Performance across all campaigns, with export The Dashboard shows performance across every campaign in the current workspace. Find it in the sidebar under **Dashboard**. ## Headline metrics LTV.ai leads with per recipient economics rather than raw totals, because they are comparable between campaigns of different sizes. | Metric | What it means | | ---------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------- | | Revenue per email | Attributed revenue divided by emails delivered | | Revenue per customer | Attributed revenue divided by unique recipients | | Conversion rate per email | Conversions divided by emails delivered | | Conversion rate per customer | Conversions divided by unique recipients | All figures respect your attribution settings. See [Attribution](/measure/attribution). ## Date range Use the date picker to change the period. Every metric and the campaign table below it update together. ## Campaign table Below the headline metrics is a per campaign breakdown with totals for campaigns sent, emails delivered, and conversions. Click any row to open its full report. See [Campaign reports](/measure/campaign-reports). Some screens label campaigns as sequences. They are the same thing. LTV.ai campaigns are always single sends. ## Export Export the current view as CSV for any date range using the export control. There is no way to share a dashboard externally by link. Export the data instead. ## Where other numbers live Full metrics, baselines, and a written explanation of performance. The Performance Insights tab on Brand DNA summarizes patterns across campaigns. # Daily briefing Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/proactive/daily-briefing A finished campaign proposal delivered every weekday The daily briefing runs every weekday. It reviews your data, decides what is worth sending, builds the campaign, and delivers it to you for approval. Configure it under **Settings > Daily Briefing**. ## What arrives A briefing is a built campaign, not a to do item. It contains: * A campaign proposal with the reasoning behind it * A complete email, including generated hero imagery * A sized audience * Where relevant, a comparison to how similar campaigns performed ## Delivery Delivered to your chosen channel. You can approve or refine without leaving Slack. Delivered to the addresses you nominate. Set your channel, recipients, and schedule under **Settings > Daily Briefing**. ## Acting on a briefing Approve and the campaign becomes a saved design ready to edit, target, and schedule. As with proactive ideas, approving does not send anything. If Slack is connected, you can reply to the briefing message to request changes, and the draft in LTV.ai updates. See [Editing a draft](/create/editing-drafts). ## Tuning the generations A briefing is built overnight with no brief from you, so its quality tracks directly with what LTV.ai knows about your brand. If briefings arrive off-tone or visually generic, fix it here rather than by editing each one. Voice, tone, and reference emails. Sets what the copy sounds like. The imagery heroes are built from. Lifestyle photography is the single biggest lever on how briefings look. ## Forecasts Revenue forecasting on briefings is enabled per brand. Contact your account manager if you want it turned on. Where enabled, briefings include an estimated revenue range. These estimates are calculated from Klaviyo attributed history and will not reconcile exactly with LTV.ai's own reporting, which uses a different attribution model. Treat them as a relative signal for comparing ideas, not as a forecast to plan against. See [Attribution](/measure/attribution). # Ideation Agent Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/proactive/ideation-agent Research your data, your catalog, and your competitors, then hand off a campaign brief **Beta.** Available per brand. Contact your account manager if you do not see Ideation Agent in your sidebar. The Ideation Agent is a research conversation. Ask it what to send next, and it investigates before answering rather than guessing. ## What it can look at Sizes audiences and tests whether a segment is big enough to be worth a campaign. Searches and ranks products against a campaign idea. Reads campaign reports to ground suggestions in what actually worked. Finds competitor brands and reads the email campaigns they have been sending. It also reads your marketing calendar, so it knows what you already have planned. See [Marketing calendar](/brand/marketing-calendar). ## Useful questions * What should we send this week * Which of our lapsed customer groups is worth a win back campaign * What have our competitors been promoting this month * Why did the last campaign underperform, and what should we do differently * How many customers would a campaign about winter accessories actually reach ## Handing off to a campaign When you land on something worth building, the agent produces a **brief**: the goal, the audience, the call to action, and any offer. Hand that straight to Campaign Creator and it starts from the brief rather than a blank prompt. The Ideation Agent researches and proposes. It does not build emails or send anything. Building happens in Campaign Creator. See [Campaign Creator](/create/campaign-creator). Because the brief is built by Campaign Creator, how the finished email looks and sounds comes from your [Brand DNA](/brand/brand-dna) and [Image Library](/brand/image-library), not from the agent. # Proactive ideas Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/proactive/proactive-ideas Campaign suggestions LTV.ai raises without being asked [LTV.ai watches your customer data, campaign history, and marketing calendar, and raises campaign ideas on its own. They appear on your Home page, and can be delivered to Slack every weekday so you see them without opening the dashboard.](http://LTV.ai) ## What triggers an idea A segment growing or shrinking, customers drifting toward lapsing, a category picking up. An event on your marketing calendar, a seasonal moment, or a gap in your send schedule. A result worth following up on, positively or negatively. A group that has become large enough or distinct enough to be worth its own campaign. ## What an idea contains An idea is not just a suggestion in text. LTV.ai builds it out: a complete email with copy and imagery, and a sized audience, so you can judge it on the finished article rather than the pitch. ## Where ideas arrive Always on. New ideas surface on your Home page with the full campaign attached. Delivered to a channel every weekday. Your team sees the idea, the reasoning, and the built email without signing in. Connect Slack under **Settings > Connections**, then choose the channel and schedule under **Settings > Daily Briefing**. Use a **public** channel, since LTV.ai cannot add itself to a private one. Ideas can also go to email addresses you nominate. See [Slack, Figma, and tracking](/connect/other-connections) and [Daily briefing](/proactive/daily-briefing). Delivering to Slack is worth doing if approvals involve more than one person. You can reply to the message to request changes, and the draft in LTV.ai updates without anyone opening the dashboard. ## Acting on one Open an idea from Home to see the full campaign. | Action | What happens | | --------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------ | | Accept | The idea becomes a saved design you can edit | | [Push to Klaviyo](/send/sending-routes) | Creates it as a campaign in your Klaviyo account | | Dismiss | Removed from your feed, and LTV.ai learns from the dismissal | Accepting an idea does not schedule a send. It creates a design and prepares the audience. You still go through **Audience** and **Schedule** yourself before anything goes out. ## Tuning the generations Proactive campaigns are built without a brief from you, so they lean entirely on what LTV.ai already knows about your brand. If ideas come back off-tone or looking generic, these two are where to fix it. Voice, tone, and the reference emails that show how your brand writes. Sets what the copy sounds like. The imagery heroes are built from. Lifestyle photography is the single biggest lever on how generated campaigns look. ## Past suggestions Every idea raised is kept, whether you acted on it or not. Open the suggestions history from Home to review them. ## Turning it off Ideas appear with no configuration. If you would rather not see them, or want them delivered somewhere other than Home, adjust delivery under **Settings > Daily Briefing**. See [Daily briefing](/proactive/daily-briefing). # Deliverability Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/send/deliverability Authentication, bounce handling, and what LTV.ai does and does not monitor LTV.ai sends on your own authenticated domain and handles the mechanics of staying deliverable. ## Authentication Set up during sending domain configuration and maintained automatically afterwards. | Record | Purpose | | --------- | -------------------------------------------------------- | | SPF | Authorizes LTV.ai to send for your domain | | DKIM | Signs each message so receivers can verify it | | DMARC | Tells receivers how to treat mail that fails SPF or DKIM | | MAIL FROM | Sets the return path used for bounce processing | See [Set up your sending domain](/connect/sending-domain). ## Bounces and complaints Hard bounces are recorded and excluded from all future sends across every brand in your account. Anyone who marks a campaign as spam is added to your brand exclusion list immediately. Both run automatically on every send. See [Exclusions and suppression](/audience/exclusions). ## Send ordering Within a campaign, more engaged recipients are sent to earlier. Early positive signals improve how the rest of the send is treated by receiving mail providers. ## Plain text alternative Every campaign gets a plain text version generated automatically alongside the HTML. Sending both is a small but real deliverability gain. ## What LTV.ai does not do Being straight about the gaps is more useful than implying coverage that is not there. * **No inbox placement testing.** LTV.ai does not run seed list tests to predict whether you land in the primary tab. * **No sender reputation score.** LTV.ai does not ingest Google Postmaster Tools or Microsoft SNDS data. * **No DMARC report analysis.** Your DMARC records are set up, but aggregate reports are not collected or interpreted. * **No automatic list sunsetting.** Long term non openers are not dropped for you. Build a list to exclude them if you want that. See [Lists](/audience/lists). If deliverability is a concern for your brand, your account manager can review your setup and sending pattern directly. ## Keeping complaint rate low Mail providers start throttling around a 0.1 percent complaint rate. The practical levers are sending to engaged recipients, keeping frequency reasonable, and making the unsubscribe link easy to find rather than hidden. # Scheduling and sending Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/send/scheduling Send now, schedule for later, or optimize send time per recipient The **Schedule** stage is the last step before a campaign goes out. ## Options Sending begins immediately and is distributed across a short window rather than fired all at once. Pick a date and time. Delivery is spread across roughly a two hour window around it. Sends are always distributed rather than instantaneous. A sudden spike of identical mail hurts deliverability. ## Optimal send time **Beta.** Requires prediction models, which are enabled per brand. Instead of one time for everyone, LTV.ai can place each recipient in whichever of eight three hour slots they are most likely to open in. The campaign is split across those slots over the day. Use this for large, engagement sensitive sends. Use a fixed time when the timing itself matters, such as a sale opening. ## Before it schedules LTV.ai checks a few things and will stop or warn you. | Check | What happens | | ------------------------------------------------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | [Sending domain](/connect/sending-domain) not verified | Blocked until setup completes | | Billing not set up | Blocked | | First ever send | Confirmation required, volume capped | | Warm-up in progress | Blocked until the ramp finishes | | More than 1.5x your largest previous send | **Blocked.** Reduce the audience, or send a smaller campaign first to raise the ceiling | | More than 1.7x your busiest day in the last 30 days | **Warning only.** Acknowledge it and carry on | The last two are different limits and behave differently. The volume cap stops you. The capacity check only warns. See [Warm-up and sending limits](/send/warmup-and-limits). See [Warm-up and sending limits](/send/warmup-and-limits). ## Sending through Klaviyo instead Everything on this page applies to sending with LTV.ai. If your sending lives in Klaviyo, you can push the campaign there instead and schedule it in Klaviyo. See [Send with LTV.ai or Klaviyo](/send/sending-routes). # Send with LTV.ai or Klaviyo Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/send/sending-routes The two ways a finished campaign can go out, and how to choose Once a campaign is built, there are two ways to get it out. You choose per campaign, not once for your account. LTV.ai sends on your own authenticated domain. Scheduling, warm-up, suppression, and reporting all happen here. LTV.ai creates the campaign in your Klaviyo account. You schedule and send it there, on Klaviyo's infrastructure. ## How they compare | | Send with LTV.ai | Push to Klaviyo | | -------------------------- | ----------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------- | | Sends from | Your LTV.ai sending domain | Your Klaviyo sending setup | | Setup needed first | [Sending domain](/connect/sending-domain) | [Klaviyo connection](/connect/klaviyo) | | Scheduling | In LTV.ai, including optimal send time | In Klaviyo | | Warm-up and volume caps | Applied automatically | Klaviyo's own rules apply | | Suppression and exclusions | Applied on every send | Klaviyo's suppression applies | | Reporting | Campaign reports in LTV.ai | Klaviyo reporting | | Attribution | Your LTV.ai attribution settings | Klaviyo's model | ## Sending with LTV.ai This is the default. Finish the draft, choose an audience, and schedule. LTV.ai handles authentication, [warm-up](/send/warmup-and-limits), [suppression](/audience/exclusions), bounce and complaint handling, and generates a [campaign report](/measure/campaign-reports) about 36 hours later. It requires a verified sending domain. See [Set up your sending domain](/connect/sending-domain) and [Scheduling and sending](/send/scheduling). ## Pushing to Klaviyo Use **Push to Klaviyo** from the draft editor. The campaign is created in your Klaviyo account, where you review, schedule, and send it as you would any other Klaviyo campaign. The same button appears on proactive idea pages, so an idea LTV.ai raised can go straight into Klaviyo without being sent from here. See [Proactive ideas](/proactive/proactive-ideas). ## Which to choose Push to Klaviyo if your sending reputation, compliance review, or reporting already lives there, or if you are not ready to set up a separate sending domain. It lets you use LTV.ai purely for generating campaigns. Send with LTV.ai if you want the audience selection, warm-up governance, suppression, and campaign reports to all apply. This is where the product does the most for you. Campaigns pushed to Klaviyo are reported on and attributed by Klaviyo. Those figures will not reconcile with LTV.ai's own numbers, because the two use different attribution models and windows. See [Attribution](/measure/attribution). # Warm-up and sending limits Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/send/warmup-and-limits How much you can send, and how the limit grows A brand new [sending domain](/connect/sending-domain) has no reputation. Sending a large campaign from it on day one is the fastest way to land in spam permanently. LTV.ai ramps you up instead. ## Your first send Your first campaign from a new domain is capped and requires an explicit confirmation before it schedules. LTV.ai sends to your most engaged recipients first, because early opens are what build reputation. ## The ramp Where automated warm-up governance is enabled, daily volume starts at roughly 100 recipients and grows by half again each day. | Day | Approximate ceiling | | --- | ------------------- | | 1 | 100 | | 2 | 150 | | 3 | 225 | | 4 | 340 | | 5 | 505 | | 6 | 760 | | 7 | 1,140 | After about a week of healthy sending the rate of increase accelerates. The ramp continues until the ceiling exceeds your list size, at which point you are sending full volume. Automated warm-up governance is enabled per brand. The first send confirmation and cap apply to every brand regardless. ## Health checks during warm-up LTV.ai watches open rate as the ramp progresses. | Condition | Result | | ----------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------- | | First five days | Grace period, ramp continues regardless | | Open rate below 20% | Ramp pauses | | Open rate below half your running average | Warning raised | A pause is not a failure. It means the list or the content needs attention before volume increases further. You cannot schedule a second campaign while a warm-up ramp is running. Wait for it to complete. ## Ongoing volume cap After warm-up, LTV.ai still limits how fast you can scale. A campaign can be up to **one and a half times** your largest previous send. A jump far beyond your established pattern is exactly what spam filters look for. This one **blocks**. If the audience exceeds the cap, the campaign will not schedule. Either reduce the audience, or send a smaller campaign first, which raises your largest-send figure and lifts the ceiling for next time. Your first send is exempt, because it is what establishes the baseline in the first place. The cap is measured against your **net** audience, after exclusions are applied, not the raw list size. See [Exclusions and suppression](/audience/exclusions). ## Daily capacity warning Separately, LTV.ai compares a campaign against your busiest day in the last 30 days. If it exceeds that by more than **70 percent**, you get a warning. Unlike the volume cap, this one does **not** block. Acknowledge it and proceed if you know the volume is legitimate, for example a Black Friday send. Warm-up governance currently applies to image based campaigns. Text campaigns are not volume governed in the same way. # Core concepts Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/start/concepts The words LTV.ai uses in the product, and what each one means These are the terms you will meet throughout the product. They are worth reading once. For what LTV.ai does and what you need to run it, see [What is LTV.ai?](/start/what-is-ltv) ## Campaign A single email send to a selected audience. LTV.ai has no drip sequences, automated flows, or trigger-based journeys. If you want a follow-up, you create a second campaign, and LTV.ai can suppress people who already engaged with the first. ## Workspace One brand and everything belonging to it: customer data, lists, designs, modules, product catalog, exclusions, and analytics. Workspaces are fully separate from one another. If you run more than one brand, switch between them using the **Workspace** control in the sidebar. See [Workspaces](/manage/workspaces). ## List A saved audience. Lists come from four places: a CSV upload, a [Klaviyo](/connect/klaviyo) segment, a [Mailchimp](/connect/mailchimp) audience, or a segment you build inside LTV.ai by describing it in plain language. Lists live under **Manage Modules > Lists**. See [Lists](/audience/lists). ## Segmentation strategy A rule for splitting one audience into groups. LTV.ai has seven built in: category affinity, discount affinity, purchase frequency, average order value tier, recency, seasonal and weather, and gift versus self purchase. LTV.ai ranks them per campaign and recommends the top three. See [AI segmentation](/audience/ai-segmentation). ## Module A reusable block of your email: header, footer, [banner](/brand/banners-and-modules), or product grid. Modules are configured once and applied to every campaign, which is how brand consistency and compliance footers stay enforced. Headers and footers are never AI generated. See [Headers and footers](/brand/headers-and-footers). ## Design A saved email layout. Designs come from LTV.ai generation, a Figma import, or an HTML or image upload. They live in the Design Library and can be reused as brand references for future generation. See [Design Library](/create/design-library). ## Exclusion An address or domain that will not receive email. Exclusions apply at brand level or campaign level. Anyone who unsubscribes is added automatically and permanently, and hard bounces are excluded across every brand. See [Exclusions and suppression](/audience/exclusions). ## Brand DNA Your brand voice, logo, colors, fonts, and reference material. LTV.ai builds it by reading your website and public presence during onboarding, and you can edit it afterwards. Every piece of generated copy is written against it. See [Brand DNA](/brand/brand-dna). # Your Home page Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/start/home What you land on, and the setup checklist that gets a brand production ready Home is where you land after signing in. It is built around one question: what should we send next. ## What is on it Describe a campaign and start building it without going anywhere else. Campaigns LTV.ai has raised on its own, each with a built email and a sized audience. What you have sent lately, and how it did. The remaining work to get this brand fully configured. ## The setup checklist The checklist floats on Home until the work is done. It groups into three buckets. ### Connections | Task | Page | | --------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------- | | Set up sending domain | [Sending domain](/connect/sending-domain) | | Manage connections | [Shopify](/connect/shopify), [Klaviyo](/connect/klaviyo) | Sending domain is the one that blocks you. You cannot send through LTV.ai until it verifies. ### Brand DNA | Task | Page | | --------------------- | ------------------------------------------- | | Review brand snapshot | [Brand DNA](/brand/brand-dna) | | Review fonts | [Brand DNA](/brand/brand-dna) | | Review colours | [Brand DNA](/brand/brand-dna) | | Add hero references | [Brand DNA](/brand/brand-dna) | | Add email references | [Brand DNA](/brand/brand-dna) | | Add competitors | [Ideation Agent](/proactive/ideation-agent) | These are the tasks that decide output quality. LTV.ai pre-fills most of them from your website, so the work is reviewing rather than authoring. ### Modules | Task | Page | | --------------------- | ------------------------------------------------- | | Customise your header | [Headers and footers](/brand/headers-and-footers) | | Customise your footer | [Headers and footers](/brand/headers-and-footers) | | Add lists | [Lists](/audience/lists) | | Add product catalog | [Product catalog](/brand/product-catalog) | A checklist task is marked complete as soon as **one** item exists. That is a completion check, not a recommendation. One hero reference will produce noticeably narrower output than ten, and the checklist will still show a tick. See [Brand DNA](/brand/brand-dna) for what good looks like. ## What to do first If you want a campaign out quickly, the shortest path is sending domain, then header and footer, then one list. Everything else improves quality rather than unblocking a send. See [Send your first campaign](/start/quickstart). # Send your first campaign Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/start/quickstart Installation, onboarding, and your first send This covers installation through to your first send. Most of the setup is automatic. ## Before you start You need a Shopify store with products and order history, and access to your domain's DNS records. Install from the Shopify App Store, or use the direct install link from your account manager. Shopify will ask you to approve the app's permissions. The permission list is long, because LTV.ai installs as part of the wider ShopToken platform app. The scopes its email features actually use cover customers, orders, products, inventory, collections, and discount codes. Write access to customers keeps unsubscribe status in sync with your store, and write access to discounts lets LTV.ai create codes for campaigns that use them. See [Shopify](/connect/shopify) for the full breakdown. Enter your website address. LTV.ai reads your site and pulls your logo, colors, and fonts automatically, then shows them to you to confirm or change. Connect Shopify if you have not already, and connect Klaviyo if you use it. You can skip this step and do it later under **Settings > Connections**. Connect Slack if you want finished campaigns delivered there for approval. This step is optional. Onboarding is three steps: **Brand**, **Store and sends**, and **Delivery**. Sending domain setup is not part of onboarding. It happens separately in Settings, and you should do it before your first send. ## Set up your sending domain Go to **Settings > Connections** and open **Sending email**. The wizard walks you through your sender name, your sending domain, DNS records, and verification. If your DNS provider is supported, LTV.ai can add the records for you. Until this is done, you cannot send. See [Set up your sending domain](/connect/sending-domain). ## Create your first campaign Open [**Campaign Creator**](/create/campaign-creator) and describe what you want in a sentence. LTV.ai generates a complete email, then walks you through three stages: **Draft**, **Audience**, and **Schedule**. Edit copy inline, swap products, regenerate images, or ask for changes in chat. Pick one list or suggested segment, and apply exclusions. Send now or schedule for a date and time. ## What happens after you send Your Shopify data syncs continuously in the background. Initial sync starts within about 15 minutes of install, and catalog data refreshes every 30 minutes after that. You can build a campaign before the first sync finishes, but audience counts will be incomplete until it does. Open and click data appears within 24 to 48 hours. A written campaign report is generated about 36 hours after the send. See [Campaign reports](/measure/campaign-reports). Your first send is your domain's warm-up send and is capped. LTV.ai starts at roughly 100 recipients and scales up daily from there. See [Warm-up and sending limits](/send/warmup-and-limits). ## Next What you land on every day, and the setup checklist that finishes configuring your brand. The things that most often look broken, and what is actually happening. # Troubleshooting Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/start/troubleshooting The things that most often look broken, and what is actually happening Most of these are timing or setup rather than faults. They are collected here because each one looks like something is broken when it is not. ## Nothing is arriving in Slack Almost always a private channel. LTV.ai adds itself to public channels automatically, but Slack does not let an app join a private channel on its own, so delivery fails quietly. Either pick a public channel, or invite the LTV.ai app to the private one in Slack first. See [Slack, Figma, and tracking](/connect/other-connections). ## A new customer is not in my audience Customer records sync from Shopify on a **12 hour cycle**. There is no real time customer webhook, so someone who subscribed this morning may not be targetable until tonight. If you need them in a campaign sooner, upload them as a list. See [Lists](/audience/lists) and [Shopify](/connect/shopify). ## Products are missing or out of date The catalog refreshes every 30 minutes, and a large change can take that long to appear. Product creates and updates are not webhook driven, only deletions are. To force it, open **Settings > Connections > Shopify** and trigger a re-sync from the catalog health card. See [Product catalog](/brand/product-catalog). ## I cannot schedule a campaign LTV.ai blocks scheduling for a few specific reasons: | Blocker | Fix | | ----------------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | Sending domain not verified | Finish [domain setup](/connect/sending-domain) | | Billing not set up | Add billing under **Settings > Billing** | | A warm-up ramp is running | Wait for it to finish. See [Warm-up and sending limits](/send/warmup-and-limits) | | Audience is more than 1.5x your largest previous send | Reduce the audience, or send something smaller first to raise the ceiling | A second, softer check compares the campaign against your busiest day in the last 30 days. Exceeding that by 70 percent produces a **warning you can proceed past**, not a block. If you are being stopped rather than warned, it is the 1.5x volume cap. ## The tracking script says disconnected It always does. The connector has no way to detect installation, so the status never changes. Verify by checking that conversions appear on a campaign report after a send. Your account manager can also confirm whether the script is firing, which is quicker than waiting for a send. See [Slack, Figma, and tracking](/connect/other-connections) and [Campaign reports](/measure/campaign-reports). ## Unsubscribes are not showing in Shopify They will not. Unsubscribe status syncs outward to [Klaviyo](/connect/klaviyo) and [Mailchimp](/connect/mailchimp), but not back to Shopify. If Shopify's marketing consent field is your record of truth, reconcile it separately. See [Data and compliance](/trust/data-and-compliance). ## Proactive campaigns look generic Usually a thin [Image Library](/brand/image-library). Proactive campaigns are built without a brief from you, so they lean entirely on your imagery and [Brand DNA](/brand/brand-dna). Adding lifestyle photography moves this more than any other change. ## Revenue does not match my other reporting Check the attribution model before assuming a discrepancy. LTV.ai defaults to a **10 day view through** window, which credits a campaign when the customer opened it, without requiring a click. That is more generous than the click based model many platforms default to. Campaigns pushed to Klaviyo are attributed by Klaviyo, not by LTV.ai. See [Attribution](/measure/attribution). # What is LTV.ai? Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/start/what-is-ltv An email marketing platform for ecommerce brands that writes, targets, and sends your campaigns LTV.ai is an email marketing platform for ecommerce brands. You describe the campaign you want in plain language, and LTV.ai writes the copy, generates the imagery, selects the audience from your customer data, and sends it on your own domain. ## What it does Describe a campaign in a sentence. LTV.ai produces a complete email: copy in your brand voice, a hero image, and a product grid pulled from your catalog. LTV.ai queries your customer data, suggests audiences with counts, and recommends a segmentation strategy ranked by expected performance. Email goes out on your own authenticated domain, with warm-up, suppression, and bounce handling applied to every send. Every campaign gets a report comparing it to your own baseline, with a written explanation of what drove the result. ## What a campaign is A campaign in LTV.ai is a single, one-off email send. There are no drip sequences, automated flows, or trigger-based journeys. Every send is composed, targeted, and scheduled individually. If you want a follow-up, you create a second campaign. ## What you need * **A [Shopify](/connect/shopify) store.** Shopify is the only ecommerce platform LTV.ai syncs with today. * **A domain you can add DNS records to**, so email sends from your brand rather than a generic address. * **Customer and order history.** Segmentation quality depends on how much of it you have. Stores on other platforms can still use LTV.ai by uploading customer lists and installing the tracking script, but product catalog and order sync will not be automatic. See [Other connections](/connect/other-connections). ## Where to start Installation through to your first send. The words LTV.ai uses, and what each one means. # Data and compliance Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/trust/data-and-compliance Unsubscribes, marketing law, and data requests ## Unsubscribes Every campaign includes a one click unsubscribe link that cannot be removed. LTV.ai also supports one click unsubscribe headers, so mail clients can show their own unsubscribe button. When someone unsubscribes: The address is added to that brand's exclusion list. Checked before every individual send. See [Exclusions and suppression](/audience/exclusions). Pushed to [Klaviyo](/connect/klaviyo) and [Mailchimp](/connect/mailchimp) where connected. Unsubscribe status is **not** written back to Shopify. If Shopify's marketing consent field is your record of truth, reconcile it separately. **Customers are not webhook driven.** There is no `customers/create` or `customers/update` webhook, so a consent change made in Shopify does not reach LTV.ai in real time. Customer records sync on a 12 hour cycle. Someone who opts out in Shopify can still be included in a campaign built before the next sync completes. Opt-outs recorded in LTV.ai, Klaviyo, or Mailchimp take effect immediately. If you manage consent in Shopify, treat that 12 hour window as the gap you need to account for. See [Shopify](/connect/shopify). Unsubscribes are permanent and cannot be reversed from the dashboard. If someone re-subscribes through your own signup flow, contact your account manager. ## Marketing law LTV.ai gives you the mechanisms. Meeting the requirements is a shared responsibility. | Requirement | LTV.ai provides | You are responsible for | | ------------------------ | ----------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------- | | Working unsubscribe | One click link and headers on every send | Not overriding it | | Physical mailing address | Footer module where it lives | Putting your real address in it | | Honoring opt-outs | Automatic, permanent suppression | Not re-uploading opted-out contacts | | Lawful basis to contact | Consent status synced from your platforms | Only mailing people who opted in | Check that your footer contains your physical mailing address before your first send. It is a legal requirement under CAN-SPAM and is not added automatically. See [Headers and footers](/brand/headers-and-footers). ## Uploaded lists Every uploaded list is checked against your unsubscribe and bounce records before sending, so an old export cannot reintroduce someone who has opted out. This protects against accidents. It does not establish that you have a lawful basis to email the people on the list. That remains your responsibility. ## Customer data requests If one of your customers asks for their data to be exported or deleted, contact your account manager with the email address. Deletion covers their profile, purchase history, and engagement history in your workspace. Deleting a customer's data does not remove them from your unsubscribe list. The suppression record is retained specifically so they are not contacted again. ## Retention and account closure For data retention schedules, deletion timelines on account closure, or a data processing agreement, contact your account manager. See [Security](/trust/security). # Security Source: https://docs.ltv.ai/trust/security How LTV.ai protects your data and your customers' data ## Infrastructure LTV.ai runs on Amazon Web Services. Application data is held in managed AWS services, and analytics data in a managed data warehouse. All traffic to and from LTV.ai is encrypted in transit. ## Access control Access is granted per workspace. A user with access to one brand cannot read another brand's data. Magic link or password. Access is provisioned and revoked by the LTV.ai team. When a user's access to a workspace is revoked, it takes effect on their next request. See [Workspaces](/manage/workspaces). ## Payment data LTV.ai does not store card numbers or payment credentials. Payments are handled by Stripe. See [Billing](/manage/billing). ## Customer data you send us LTV.ai holds the customer data required to run your campaigns: contact details, purchase history, and email engagement history. It is used to segment, personalize, and report on your campaigns for your brand only. Your customer data is never used to serve another LTV.ai customer. ## Reporting a vulnerability If you believe you have found a security issue in LTV.ai, contact your account manager or email [security@ltv.ai](mailto:security@ltv.ai) with enough detail to reproduce it. Please do not disclose it publicly before we have had a chance to respond. ## Security documentation For a security review, vendor assessment, or questionnaire, contact your account manager. They can supply current documentation on certifications, encryption standards, retention schedules, authentication options, and access controls for your organization's review. If your organization requires specific controls such as enforced multi-factor authentication, IP restrictions, or a signed data processing agreement, raise them with your account manager before rollout rather than after.
